He was born on November 1, 1990, and had two world records to his name by the age of 25.
His passion for adventure has led him to becoming the first person to complete an unsupported walk across Mongolia in 2014.
His 2,400 km (1,500 mi) journey meant he covered the Altai Mountains and Gobi Desert.

In 2016, he became the first recorded person to cross the length of Madagascar.
The trek was 2,600 km (1,600 mi) and included its eight highest peaks.
During the trip, Ash contracted the deadliest strain of malaria and was close to death.

Ash's adventures have meant he has encountered some of the most extreme environments on Earth.
In 2015, Ash received the National Adventurer of the year award.
By 2021, he'd became the first person to walk the length of the Yangtze River, China – the longest river in Eurasia – achieving his third world record.
It took 352 days to complete and meant Ash walked over 4,000 kilometres of treacherous terrain that sent ten of his 16 teammates home.
It also meant he earned himself celebrity status in China.
