Moment flames erupt as Israel strikes Hezbollah 'terror bases' hours after issuing chilling warning to Hamas leaders | The Sun

ISREAL last night struck Hezbollah bases in Lebanon sending a huge mushroom cloud of flames billowing into the sky.

The IDF said it used fighter jets to attack "terror bases" used by Hezbollah militants in farmland near two Lebanese towns.

It came hours after an Israeli military spokesman dubbed Hamas leaders "dead men walking" in a chilling threat.

Jonathan Conricus – the acting spokesperson for the Israeli military – told Sky: "The directive is definitely to kill or capture all the leaders of Hamas, those who planned, facilitated and executed the murderous 7 October massacre in Israel.

"We've said so clearly.

"All of them are dead men walking and it's only a matter of time inside Gaza and outside of Gaza, until these Hamas leaders will either be captured or killed by Israel."

Footage shared on the IDF's Twitter page showed a huge fireball erupt as targets were struck in Kafr Kila and Khiam in Lebanon.

The IDF statement read: "Fighter jets recently attacked terrorist infrastructures of the Hezbollah organisation in Lebanon, in response to launches towards Israeli territory in the last day.

"Among the targets that were attacked, buildings and military positions where the organization's terrorists operated, and a number of technological means that were used to direct terrorism against the State of Israel."

The Lebanese Civil Defense said a building used to store fertiliser near Khiam was destroyed in the strike.

His address included a chilling warning to Israel, fuelling fears of an all-out war: "If the enemy starts to attack any Lebanon area, they would make the hugest, the stupidest mistake.

"I'll say it with all the transparency, on our front, all options are open.

"We must be ready for all options."
