The Chases Shaun Wallace announces new role away from ITV series

The Chase: Contestants win £20,000 in final chase

The Chase star Shaun Wallace is set to step away from the ITV quiz show over the Christmas period to take part in a pantomime.

Shaun is joining the West End’s adult pantomime Jack And His Giant Bigstalk Supporting HIV and AIDS Charity The Terrence Higgins Trust

The Entertainment Providers are delighted to announce that Shaun Wallace will be joining the cast of Simon Gross’s adult pantomime for the 11th December performance.

Shaun isn’t the only one who is swapping their chair of power for a pantomime and Jenny Ryan recently announced her role as the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The Dark Destroyer recently paid tribute to his co-star Jenny, as he took to social media to celebrate her major career move.

In a video on his Instagram, Shaun expressed: “What a legend this woman is! Don’t forget to go and see how scary she really can be as the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Darlington Hippodrome.

“Maybe I should do panto next year?” he joked.

She recently spoke to Express.co.uk about her new role and said: “You’ve got a license to ramp everything up, go right over the top, so that’s really what I’ve got to get my head into, that space.

“But there’s got to be a little bit of The Vixen in there, she’s the fierce, scary one, so she could have a little bit of input in how we play the Wicked Queen.

“She’s definitely going to help out, but I’m playing a royal so there’s going to be even more regal imperiousness about the character I’m playing.”

Whilst Shaun and Jenny will be returning to the show, Mark Labbett recently opened up about his worry that Bradley Walsh would be leaving the show soon.

Bradley and son Barney bagged the role of presenting the reboot of the iconic show Gladiators, which is due to return to screens shortly.

Mark told The Sun: “I worry Bradley might stop one day. Anne [Hegerty] is terrified, the others are worried.

“In the same way Holly Willoughby resigned from This Morning, ITV would be inundated with people wanting to do it if, God forbid, Bradley retired.”

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
