Strictly Come Dancing: Ellie and Vito get their scores
Strictly Come Dancing fans were complaining minutes into the latest show following Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola’s Quickstep. The duo opened Musicals’ Week with a performance to ‘Belle’ from Beauty and the Beast.
At the end of the lively routine which opened the BBC show, judges Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas were full of praise for the Coronation Street star. Kicking off the feedback, Shirley remarked: “A beautiful Belle, what a way to open our show this week.
“And I felt within two minutes I watched a whole musical, I got the whole storyline, your narrative was really off the charts. What I also love is that you had the ability to separate, dance with another partner at the beginning and look just as good with him.”
She went on to describe the routine as “elegant” and “simply divine”. Likewise, Anton applauded Ellie’s light feet and labelled her “the Belle of the ball”.
Craig had one piece of criticism but stated Ellie had “grown as a dancer” and that he “absolutely loved it”. The couple had their fingers crossed for a 10, but Craig has so far not awarded one.

Each judge went on to award Ellie and Vito a score of 9, giving them a total of 36 points out of a possible 40 points.
While it’s a high number, fans of the show were left frustrated as to why they hadn’t achieved a perfect score following such promising feedback.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, @RosieSharp12 fumed: “F***in robbed. #strictly.” (sic) @vxdkairwin asked: All 9s are you taking the p***?! #Strictly.”

Ellie is the current favourite to win this year’s series, according to the bookmakers Ladbrokes. Will she manage to take home the Glitterball Trophy?
Week 11 kicked off with the sad news that actor Nigel Harman had been forced to pull out of the competition just hours before the live show. It came as he was badly injured, which he later explained during the show.
For this reason, the hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced there would be no elimination this week, meaning all four remaining couples will go straight through to next week.
Nigel and his partner Katya Jones appeared on the show to address their early exit after Ellie’s dance, and Katya ended up in tears.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7.35pm on BBC One.
