Sam Thompson receives warm welcome after leaving camp
Sam Thompson gave a brilliant response when he found out Nigel Farage had been paid £1.5 million to take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. Sam won the series last weekend after winning the hearts of viewers with his high energy and enthusiasm.
This was proved further when he reacted to news of Nigel’s eye-watering payment. Speaking to The Times, he responded: “B***dy hell!
“I didn’t have a clue. You could buy five houses for that,” before adding: “Mate, I would have done it for anything! I would have been a very, very easy negotiation. I would have paid them to be on it.”
Sam was among the favourites from the very start of the series and went on to be crowned king of the jungle on Sunday. Nigel and former boxer Tony Bellew were this year’s runners-up.
While Sam befriended all his campmates, he formed a close bond with Tony, whom he was a massive fan of. Tony came second and hugged Sam as he won his favourite show.

He told the publication: “It wasn’t monetary, or a career move, I genuinely wanted to go and eat camel’s penis.
“I wanted to meet Ant and Dec, they’re my heroes, the most iconic people of my life.”

According to the Mail Online, former MP Nigel has become the highest-paid star of the show, taking over from Noel Edmonds, who was paid £600,000 in 2018.
After his win, Sam made headlines again for his emotional reunion at the airport with girlfriend Zara McDermott.
The couple, who have been together for almost five years, couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they emotionally hugged and kissed at Heathrow airport earlier this week.
Sam, 31, and Zara went on to pose for pictures together alongside Sam’s best friend Pete Wicks, who flew out to Australia to support him.
The former Love Island star stayed in the UK during the duration of the show, due to her previous commitments with Strictly Come Dancing.
