BBC Breakfast: Sally Nugent warns Jon is ‘on form today’
BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent had to warn her colleague Carol Kirkwood on Wednesday morning after Jon Kay continued to tease his co-stars.
As Carol came to the end of her second weather forecast of the morning, she concluded that there would be a rise in temperature.
Turning back to Jon and Sally, Jon quipped: “That bag is truly mixed, that is one of the most mixed bags we have ever had.”
Laughing, Carol noted: “That is a good line, I’m going to pinch that,” before he teased: “That you very much indeed, I was talking about the weather.”
Noting her co-star’s behaviour, Sally said: “He is on form today Carol, we are going to have to watch out I think.”

@SinceMinesTaken added: “Sally having to warn Carol about Jon’s dad jokes has killed me off. Bless him.”
@AnnayMarray penned: “I love the dynamic between this team! Jon’s jokes and the way Sally just sits there!” (sic)
Earlier in the show, Jon left Sally in disbelief as he shuffled through the newspapers and pulled out a dad joke.

After finding an interesting story, Jon said: “Sal I love this story in the papers this morning about a bird in New Zealand.
“Every year in New Zealand they have a competition on what is your favourite bird, and for a bird competition, they take it very seriously.
“The comedian and TV presenter in America, John Oliver, has decided that he would enter it, not as a bird, as a voter even in America.
“He began a campaign for the rare bird and as a result, it had 10 times the amount of votes than any other bird and its won.
“People in New Zealand are crying foul…” leaving Sally to sigh at his joke and add: “Oh… You have done it again, no!”
