POLL – Vote for which star you think should leave Strictly this weekend

Jody Cundy says leaving Strictly has been ‘pretty hard’

Strictly Come Dancing has reached its fifth week and the competition is hotting up for our array of celebrity dancers and their professional partners.

Last week Paralympian Jody Cundy was voted off with his partner Jowita Przystał after his Salsa failed to save him in the dreaded dance-off.

Jody was sad to go home so early on in the competition, saying his exit was “bittersweet”. The sportsman added: “From the time that I’ve been in Strictly, it’s been Strictly, Strictly, Strictly.

“I don’t feel like I’ve had much of a life outside that, but it’s been a good life and I am kind of missing it now.”

Les Dennis and Nikita Kanda were voted off in weeks two and three respectively, and week five will cut another famous face from the chance of winning the Glitterball Trophy.

The 12 remaining dancers take to the floor with their professional partners tonight, with Strictly judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas casting a critical eye over the pairings.

And being at the top of the leaderboard one week may not save you the next, as Eddie Kadi learned last week.

Despite Eddie finishing second top in week three, his American Smooth last week did not impress the judges and he ended up in the bottom two with his partner Karen Hauer.

According to Ladbrokes, EastEnders’ star Bobby Brazier is the current favourite to lift the Glitterball Trophy.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Bobby may have been outscored by Nigel this weekend, but he’s actually had a great week as far as the odds are concerned, and he’s now once again favourite to win this year’s Glitterball Trophy.”

He added: “Layton Williams’ rollercoaster ride in the betting goes on… After a sensational performance on Saturday, we’ve slashed his odds considerably, with punters seemingly convinced he might go all the way.”

Bobby’s odds of winning sit at 9/4, and Nigel is just behind on 5/2. Layton Williams sits third at 5/1, while both Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Zara McDermott are the least likely to win at 100/1.
