Former Hollyoaks’ star Nadine Mulkerrin has shared joyful photos of a recent holiday to the Portuguese resort of Abufeira, along with her fiancé and co-star Rory Douglas-Speed and their two sons Dougie and Reggie
‘Wonderful fun in the sun with the family and cousins! Beautiful memories made… ‘ she shared on her Instagram.
Photos showed the couple’s boys, Reggie and Dougie, looking cute and happy in the sun, while Rory and Nadine looked like they were having a great time relaxing and unwinding and having fun with the kids.
Nadine played popular character Cleo McQueen on the soap since 2015. She took maternity leave when she was expecting her second child, but soon after her departure she confirmed that the move was permanent.
She reflected on her time at Hollyoaks, including meeting Rory.
‘It’s been an amazing eight years at Hollyoaks,’ said said. ‘I’ve had the absolute ride and the best journey ever being in the iconic McQueen family.
‘I have been blessed with so many incredible storylines, arriving with the Pete and Cleo storyline, the powerful sexual abuse storyline, and then the impactful bulimia storyline which crescendo’d on my wedding day to my real-life fiancé, meeting Rory, and joining at 21 and leaving eight years later its been an incredibly special job.’
She added that the show ‘will always have a special place in my heart.’
Meanwhile Rory continues to play Joel Dexter in the show. Earlier this year his character was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, something that Rory himself has lived with since he was a child.

While Nadine and Rory’s family holiday looks idyllic, Nadine shared a detail that parents of young children will find extremely relatable.
‘Nursery was welcomed this morning … Jesus Christ I’m knackered !!!! 😅😅’ she wrote, with fans sympathising with the all too real struggle.
‘You always need another holiday after a holiday with kids!!’ one commented.
At least the family were able to enjoy a well-earned and idyllic rest, even if the return to reality was all to real!
