After seven years away from our screens, Deal Or No Dealhas made its return to the TV with a brand new look.
Hosted byStephen Mulhern, and now on ITV, the popular game show made its debut on our screens on Monday 20 November, though viewers were left complaining after one feature from the original show failed to make an appearance.
In years gone by, contestants on Deal Or No Deal had the chance to win a whopping ÂŁ250,000 prize pot, though the latest reboot failed to bring back this original feature. Instead, contestants could only win a maximum jackpot of ÂŁ100,000.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their shock, one social media user wrote: âJust turned the TV on and #DealOrNoDeal is on⊠where the hell is the ÂŁ250,000 box may I ask? Itâs a no deal from me."
A second added: âBit strange how 18 years ago when #DealOrNoDeal started they could afford to give away ÂŁ250,000 but now the top prize is ÂŁ100,000. Doesnât feel quite as special does it? Donât get me wrong though, I would still absolutely love to win 100K."
Meanwhile, a third wrote: âWhy has deal or no deal dropped the big cash prize? need the ÂŁ250.000 more now than ever #dealornodeal."
And a fourth said: âBig mistake dropping the maximum win from ÂŁ250,000. Lost a lot of its edge. #dealornodeal."
However, despite some peopleâs confusion over the reduced jackpot, others were impressed by the showâs reboot, with TV personality and author Richard Osman praising the showâs debut.
âMulhern is great on the new #DealOrNoDeal. Perfect choice,â he wrote.
In addition to fronting the latest series of Deal Or No Deal, Stephen, 46, is known for presenting a variety of hit shows including Catchphrase and In For A Penny.
More recently,Stephen revealed that he was in talks to take over hostingDancing On Ice fromPhillip Schofield â withHolly Willoughby âs role on the show uncertain.
Speaking toMailOnline, he said: âWe are talking about it, but I promise you now that nothing is confirmed but if it happens, it will be absolutely amazing… if it doesn't, look, it doesn't.â
And in another interviewStephen has said he would âbe sillyâ to turn down an opportunity to present the show alongside Holly if offered.
âI absolutely loved it with Holly. We had a great time. And the response on social media was amazing. We are talking about Dancing On Ice. But I promise you now nothing has been agreed,â hetold the Mirror.
