FANS were left ‘screaming at the TV’ after Matty made a HUGE blunder during last night's episode of Big Brother.

The 24-year-old doctor slipped up while talking to the rest of his housemates on Tuesday's instalment of the ITV show.


Matty was talking to the rest of the house bout George Orwell's novel 1984 – but he managed to get some key information about the book very wrong.

The reality star said that it was called 1974.

Many took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his error.

One said: "Matty teaching people about the origins of Big Brother and talking about the year 1974… Um…"

Another pointed out: "Omg 1984 could be the answer to the challenge…perhaps they can educate Matty who was trying to give a lecture earlier, misquoting it as 1974."

A third chimed in: "My favourite part about #BBUK was Matty describing the book 1984 and in his description, he said it took place in 1974 Matty it’s literally the title of the book…"

A fourth sarcastically tweeted: "Ahh yes Matty, that well known novel 1974."

Ahead of his appearance on the OG reality show, Matty told ITV: "I want to experience everything before I die, and I just thought why not do something mad like this?
