Amanda Abbington shuts down feud rumours with Gio and says they ‘laugh a lot’
Strictly Come Dancing hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly have addressed contestant Amanda Abbington’s absence from the show this week.
The 49-year-old won’t be competing in this weekend’s live show alongside professional partner Giovanni Pernice due to medical reasons.
Amanda and Giovanni were set to perform a Cha Cha Cha to the song Canned Heat by Jamiroquai.
Speaking about the duo missing the show, Claudia told viewers: “Now, as you may have noticed, Amanda and Giovanni are missing from the line-up.
“Due to medical reasons, Amanda is unable to perform this week.”

Tess added: “As per the rules of the competition she’s been given a by and all being well will return to the ballroom next weekend.”
Claudia continued: “Amanda we are all sending you so much love.”
As the live audience erupted into applause, Tess said: “Lots of love to you.”
Last weekend, fans of the BBC show saw the duo perform the Foxtrot to Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac.

Their routine seemed to impress the judges as they were awarded a total of 31 for their dance, putting them joint fourth on the leaderboard alongside Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington.
After their routine, Motsi Mabuse had nothing but kind words to say as she called their performance “memorable”.
She said: “You two never, ever disappoint!
“You’ve been coming out week on week strong as ever, this week as well.
“I always feel like you take time to show the beauty of the movement.”
At the end of their routine, Amanda told Claudia she was pleased with how she danced as her partner told her it was “beautiful”.
Will Amanda and Giovanni be able to impress the same way they did with their Foxtrot when they return to the competition?
