Ever since EastEnders teased that one character would die during it's 2023 Christmas special, viewers have been going in circles trying to figure out who it could be.
And after this week's events involving the Taylor family, which led to Karen [ Lorraine Stanley] fleeing Walford and heading for Spain, fans are speculating that her son Keanu [Danny Walters] could be the one saying his goodbyes.
While they are also predicting that his sister Bernie will be the culprit for the murder, after she told him: "You are dead to me Keanu. Do you hear me? You are dead to me," during Friday, 8 December's episode.
Keanu's storyline hit boiling point in recent episodes as his mum, Karen, took the fall for kidnapping son Albie – despite it being his plot to stop on/off girlfriend Sharon from taking him abroad.
After letting his mum take the heat and coming away scathe-free, Keanu watched as Karen fled the square, but faced the wrath of his sister, who doesn't seem keen to forgive him this time.
The tension between the pair has sparked viewers attention, with one tweeting: "Why do I feel like Bernie could kill keanu on Christmas Day #EastEnders".
Another echoed: "I'm not even joking…Bernie could kill Keanu #Eastenders," as a third added: "Bernie isn't gonna forgive Keanu #EastEnders."
The soap have been building up to the festive murder since February, with Linda Carter, Denise Fox, Sharon Watts, Kathy Beale, Stacey Slater and Suki Panesar being shown as 'The Six' potential murderers.
But theorising that this is a red herring, one viewer shared to X: "New theory, it's gonna be no-one in #thesix trailers… Bernie is gonna take out Keanu with the bust of good old Queen Victoria."
Coincidentally, the Christmas killing is set to take place on the same day as Keanu's wedding to Sharon, with it unclear whether she will find out the truth about their son's kidnapping or not.
Elsewhere in the square, Stacey has finally noticed that all may not be as it seems when it comes to Eve's recent departure from Walford – with the latter failing to get in touch as she usually would.
"Something just ain't sitting right," Stacey explained as she took her worries to pal and detective Jack Branning. "And if I go down to the station, they ain't gonna take me seriously."
Jack then promised to take a look into what has happened.
