As the exciting EastEnders Christmas whodunnit plot inches ever closer to it’s exciting conclusion in two months time, fans at home are convinced they have spotted a number of key clues that could reveal the identity of which character will be killed on Christmas Day.
So far, several poor souls have been suggested, with Keanu Taylor and Theo Hawthorne among two popular fan theories. However another possibility that continues to gain traction is Walford villain Nish Panesar, who has been making his wife Suki’s life hell for much of the past year.
As regular viewers will know, the Panesar patriarch has already showcased his mean streak in the past, but on Tuesday’s visit to Walford, Nish violently attacked Suki after she accused his son Ravi of murder.
Things didn’t appear to be much better the following day either, as a nervous Suki was shown to be living on a knife edge as she tried to avoid her husband’s wrath, something which lead to heartbreaking scenes, in which she was seen crying while her hair fell out from the stress of living in such dire circumstances.
Seeing Suki so visibly shaken, many fans opted to revisit last night’s scenes which featured Nish as they searched for clues that could indicate his reign of terror may soon be over.
One notable revelation among the scenes, is that Suki was spotted wearing the same blouse she was wearing during February’s flash-foward clip to Christmas Day 2023.
Viewers also picked up on an ominous shadow cast by Nish during his altercation, which harkened back to a previous scene during the lock-in episode, which was also the last time Suki was seen wearing the blouse.
As fans may recall, during that episode, which aired in February, Suki made reference to being kept in the shadows, something which Nish appeared to do himself, as he taunted his wife from the sidelines for daring to speak out against his son.
Interestingly however, Suki isn’t the only Walford resident who has beef with Nish, as he has crossed several of the other women who could be his potential killer, including Denise Fox and Linda Carter.
Denise in particular, has been a a shoulder to cry on for Suki as she struggled to live under his tyrannical rules – and of course, has experienced his wrath herself, after he threatened her for her ‘vendetta’ against his son Ravi.
Linda also butted heads with Nish earlier this Summer, when she famously (and somewhat ungraciously) rejected his offer to buy the Queen Vic, meaning there could already be some bad blood brewing between the rival business owners.
Meanwhile, with Nish due to extend a loan to departing character Rocky Cotton in the coming days and find himself linked to the cafe fire, there’s also plenty of motive there for Kathy Beale to be far from fond of the dodgy businessman – but is it enough to kill him?
Over the course of the past year, plenty of fans have been picking up on clues that indicate Nish could be the one to die in the coming weeks, including one theory that involves the cufflinks worn by the victim, which actually belong to Nish himself.
But with so many other candidates with reasons to hate him, could The Six be forming an orderly queue to eliminate him once and for all?
Taking to social media to share their thoughts, one fan wrote: "Nish now has a link to Kathy, Denise and Suki. Three of the six. It's got to be him surely!”
A second fan also weighed in as they pointed out: "The little head shake was every bit as heartbreaking as the kitchen scene. She’s been silenced. Forced to keep quiet or risk putting herself and others in danger. Kept in the shadows. again. Coincidence that she’s wearing the shirt from #TheSix lock in? I think not."
Before a third fan agreed, adding: "Hear me out. walk with me. at the lock in, Suki said 'the ones who try to keep us in the shadows' today, wearing the SAME BLOUSE, her abuse storyline escalated to physical…while Nishs SHADOW was looming over her. Coincidence?Ii don’t think so…Suki trailer next?"
