You can now buy your own village in Romania for £650,000 – complete with a sauna, zip line and traditional houses

An entire village is available to buy for £650,000 – and potential buyers will feel as though they have stepped back in time. 

Estate agency Sotheby’s has listed Feresti, in Maramures County, Romania, which is steeped in history and even boasts its own zip line.

The one-of-a-kind plot features five houses and a recreated settlement, modelled after local styles dating back to 625 BC. 

The properties, built in 2014, incorporate traditional furnishings, including colourful rugs, timber ceilings, wooden beams, and painted blue and green doors, offering a nod to the site’s history.

According to Sotheby’s, these houses are ‘ideal places for families eager for nature and relaxation, or for those who want to disconnect from daily life.’

The town is surrounded by farms and fields, making it perfect for anyone looking to escape the city.

But, conveniently, it’s only a 30-minute drive from shops, cafes and restaurants. 

The 0.94 acre site also has a pond containing trout, carp and sturgeons, a large pavilion, sauna, hot tub and BBQ area – as well as a zip line.
