Eric Dier holds talks with Levy

The Telegraph report that Eric Dier held talks with Daniel Levy this week after being frozen out by new manager Ange Postecoglou.

The talks were apparently cordial, with no suggestion that there has been a row or a fall out between Dier and Postecoglou.

The details of the meeting were kept private but it is likely that Dier wanted clarity on his position within the squad after falling down the pecking order behind 19-year-old centre-back Ashley Phillips.

There is some interest in Dier from clubs in Saudi Arabia so that will be one to keep an eye on today.

Although it is more likely Dier will see out the remaining year of his Spurs contract before moving to a European club on a free next summer.
