It's Sal good
Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Arsenal’s William Saliba is better than Lisandro Martinez.
Ferdinand told talkSPORT: “I’ll go with Saliba. I think Saliba could potentially be top, top, top.
“I think Martinez answered a lot of critics last year, a lot of doubters about his size and stuff like that, fantastic on the ball.
“But in this comparison, I also think you’re helped by the team you play in. Saliba is in a very solid, consistent team, whereas Martinez isn’t.”

Zlatan defends the Glazers
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has enraged Manchester United fans by appearing to defend the Glazers.
Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, he said: "I think now in Man Utd, I don't know, there are some kind of demonstrations about the owners to sell it and that, but just a reminder, the owners are investing.
"It is not like they are not investing because they brought in many players for a high amount of money.
"So I think it's a little bit wrong saying that they are not doing what the fans expect them to do, then I don't know what the real reason is behind everything."
His comments have upset United supporters, though, with one commenting: "Zlatan just lost my respect."

Key detail 'cut' from Beckham doc
A key detail was left out of David Beckham's new documentary.
The former Manchester United midfielder is the star of his own Netflix series, charting his life and including some interesting tales.
However, one notable talking point was omitted – his role as an ambassador for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Explaining why the detail was left out, director Fisher Stevens told The Independent: "It just felt kind of dated.
"Honestly, if I had another episode, we could have gotten into that. But it just didn't feel as relevant. When you're talking about a guy's 48 years, that was [just] a moment."

More from Neville
Gary Neville has ripped into Manchester United as his former club endure their worst start for 39 years.
The pundit told talkSPORT: "There are very few players that excel at Manchester United in this last ten years, they were all great players when they came to the club, they were all wanted by other clubs.
"They won these players off of other clubs and then they end up coming to Manchester United and they end up not succeeding and not performing to their levels, why is that?
"It’s because it’s not culturally correct to accept players in the way that it should do and we need to get that right."

Neville slams United's slow start
Gary Neville has slammed his former club Manchester United amid their worst start to a season for 39 years.
The Red Devils have lost four of their opening seven Premier League matches and have tasted defeat in both matches so far in the Champions League.
When asked what he has made of United's start to the campaign, Neville told talkSPORT: "Scruffy, very scruffy. Up and down, inconsistent, injuries and lots of things going wrong on the pitch, lots of things going wrong off the pitch.
"I feel very sorry for the manager, I know a lot of people will say he’s got to do a lot better, and that’s fine, he’s the Manchester United manager, but there are a lot of big problems at the club that managers have found over the last ten years.
"I think until those problems are solved we’ll still continue to see underperforming teams, underperforming players, it’s become a graveyard for coaches and players – it’s not too strong a term."

Fifth Champions League spot in doubt

However, Arsenal and Manchester United’s defeats this week, paired with Aston Villa and Brighton’s opening European losses, mean the Premier League is not yet in line to receive a bonus slot.
England currently rank 16th this season, with Turkey and Belgium on course for the extra places as things stand, according to The Athletic.

Onana dubbed a 'downgrade' on De Gea
Chris Sutton has claimed Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is a "downgrade" on David de Gea.
Onana joined the Red Devils in the summer to replace De Gea, who departed upon the expiry of his contract.
However, the former Ajax stopper has endured a difficult start to the season, making several high-profile mistakes.
Sutton has now argued United would have been better off keeping De Gea, telling the Daily Mail: "I think he's a downgrade on De Gea. I really do.
"I've seen enough of him. Is he better than De Gea with his feet? Probably, only just.
"But I'm more interested in him keeping the ball out the back of the net and I think he's made a lot of blunders this season. A lot of goalkeeping errors."

Rooney at risk of losing job

But his time there could be over in a matter of days after their faint play-off hopes were all-but crushed on Wednesday.
Rooney’s team were hammered 3-0 at Austin – which left him even admitting that it would need “almost a miracle” to progress.
