BBC star Anita Rani confessed she feels “sexier than ever” as she embarks on a new chapter in her life following her split from tech boss Bhupi Rehal earlier this year after 14 years of marriage.
The Countryfile presenter insisted there is “no shame” in being a mid-40s singleton “living her best life” as she shared her relief at their separation finally being made public. The 46-year-old made sure to show her ex what he was missing last week when she attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
For the star-studded ceremony, the raven-haired beauty ditched her farmyard wellies and wax she regularly rocks for the BBC countryside show for something a little more elegant. The star strutted along the red carpet in a gorgeous black dress which featured a thigh-high split which she described as part of her “liberation”.

She elevated with a pair of black high heels and accessorised the look with a simple black clutch bag. The broadcaster straightened her locks and added a full face of makeup that celebrated her youthful glow.
Anita highlighted her golden skin with a touch of bronzer on the high points of her face and added a dramatic winged eyeliner to her lid. To complete the look, she added a swipe of deep red lipstick to make her pout pop.
The star proudly declared: “I’m a woman who’s worked her a**e off to become who she is, so I'll wear whatever the damn well I like, and I'm going to love it!” More recently, the presenter turned heads yet again when she ditched her bra in a sizzling shoot for The Sun and described herself as feeling “sexier than ever.”
Anita, who famously made it to the Strictly Come Dancing finals in 2019, explained that she wants to let all women know she’s “now on the other side” and feels a sense of “empowerment.” She told Fabulous magazine: “Not everything works out and things come to their natural conclusion, and that is absolutely fine.
“I’m single, I'm child-free, I’m in my mid-40s and I have never felt better, sexier, more powerful or more excited about the future. I’m exercising my choice to do what the hell I want.”
She continued: “And that feels very empowering. I’m stepping into chapter two. It means unapologetic. It means not being afraid to own my space.”
The BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour presenter explained that she is happy being single at the moment and got through the difficult summer months with her friends’ support. She went on: “My female friendships have been so important. I went to Glastonbury with Woman’s Hour this summer at a very poignant moment in my life.

“I had a group of the most amazing women with me, and it was exactly what I needed at that time. We were all just loving life and owning it and it felt so food. I’ve got a network of badass women who all know who they are.”
Speaking of Anita and Bhupi’s split back in September, a source told the Mirror: “It’s really sad but they’ve decided to separate. Their hectic schedules over the past couple of years have sadly meant they’ve drifted apart over time.
"They remain on very good terms and wish nothing but the best for one another," they added.
