Copenhagen vs Man Utd: Red Devils aim for Champions League double over Danish giants – stream, TV channel, team news | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED face a crucial Champions League fixture against Copenhagen TONIGHT.

The Red Devils could fall to the bottom of Group A should they lose, while a win could see them climb into the qualifying spots.

Last time the two sides faced off a fortnight ago Erik ten Hag's side scraped a victory by the barest of margins.

Harry Maguire netted the winning goal, but the team was bailed out as Andre Onana made a stoppage-time penalty save to preserve all three points.

European football has proved to be little distraction from the club's troubles.

Before the win against Copenhagen, United were beaten by both Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

The Red Devils go into the game in a slightly better mood, having just beaten Fulham 1-0 thanks to Bruno Fernandes' late winner.

Copenhagen will be hoping that home advantage can give them the edge over United this time around.

The Danish side gave a good account of themselves at Old Trafford, and with the home support at Parken Stadium, will have hopes of a better result.

The game will also see another meeting between brothers Rasmus and Oscar Hojlund.

Unlike United, Copenhagen have excelled since the last meeting as they remain top of the Superliga.

Both teams will also be keeping an eye on the other fixture in the group.

Bayern Munich take on Galatasaray at the Allianz Arena and they will be hoping the German side does their job.

Should the Turkish giants pull off a shock win then both United and Copenhagen will find it difficult to get out of the group.

A win for Bayern would see them continue their perfect record and pretty much guarantee top spot.

What is their form like?

Copenhagen have been in storming form in domestic football since the defeat to United.

The Danish outfit have won three from three and scored nine goals in the process.

Jacob Neestrup's side has beaten both Hvidovre and Randers in the league as well as Midtjylland in the Danish Cup.

Man United on the other hand have suffered two 3-0 defeats.

They were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle after being humbled in the Manchester derby by noisy neighbours Manchester City.

Erik ten Hag's side have found some form recently, having beaten Fulham 1-0 in their last match.

What is the team news?

Copenhagen boss Jacob Neestrup will be forced to face the Manchester giants without forward Mohamed Elyounoussi, who recently suffered a muscular injury.

William Clem continues on his road to recovery having sustained a broken leg earlier this season.

Elsewhere, Erik ten Hag will be sweating over the fitness of Marcus Rashford, who was ruled out of the Fulham win after picking up a heavy knock in training.

And it could see the English star sit on the sidelines once again with Casemiro (hamstring), Luke Shaw (muscle), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Lisandro Martinez (foot) and Amad Diallo (knee).

Who will be the star men?

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes will be hoping to pick up where he left off after his winning goal against Fulham.

The attacking midfielder has come under a lot of criticism this season but is still one of the team's most important players.

In the Premier League, he has contributed to five goals in his 11 appearances.

He does have one assist in the Champions League but is yet to score in the competition this season.

For Copenhagen, Diogo Goncalves could provide them with a dangerous outlet.

The former Benfica and Nottingham Forest star has found a new home in Denmark and is starting to show the form that he promised as a youngster in Portugal.

He had already notched one goal in the Champions League group stage as he bagged against Galatasaray.

With United's frail defence, he could fancy himself to double his tally.
