Cook ‘super juicy’ soy sauce chicken in just two simple steps using an air fryer

There are so many ways to cook chicken so it can be hard to know where to start for a quick and easy dinner.

This Taiwan-style soy sauce recipe by food blogger Tiffy, from Tiffy Cooks, is ideal for those looking to enjoy a flavoursome dish without too much hassle.

Sharing the meal on her blog, she claimed: “This recipe is the best air fryer soy sauce chicken you will ever try, and the best part is it is also super easy to make.”

She continued: “The chicken is super flavorful and tender, while the skin is crispy.”

Making the dish is as simple as marinating chicken thighs a “classic” blend of Taiwanese ingredients – soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, five-spice powder, white pepper, and garlic.

Method

Place the raw chicken in a bowl and add both kinds of soy sauce, the five-spice powder, white pepper, sugar, and minced garlic.

Stir gently to coat the meat and leave to marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature.

When time is up, add the chicken to a non-preheated air fryer skin side facing up, and set the appliance to 195C for 15 minutes.

Tiffy claimed that while she wasn’t always a fan of using an air fryer, she “instantly fell in love” with her soy sauce chicken recipe.

She explained: “The high heat fries the chicken skin until crispy while still keeping all the chicken juices.”

While the recipe caters to the chicken only, the food blogger recommended serving the meat on a bed of steamed or boiled rice with a topping of chopped spring onions.

Adding a side of green vegetables like broccoli and peas makes for a perfectly balanced meal.
