Caffè Nero has unveiled a major menu shake-up to get customers in the festive spirit as they take a break from Christmas shopping.

The chain’s 2023 Christmas line-up features three new drinks, four savoury items and four sweet treats and is available across the UK.

Paying homage to its Italian-inspired flavours, the cafe’s selection include the likes of a Panettone Latte, Florentine Mocha and Luxury Amaretto Mince Pies.

The coffeeshop is also introducing an exclusive Winter Blend, which is ‘crafted from 100% Arabica beans with notes of plum, praline, orange, and a hint of spice’.

The 2023 line-up features three drinks, four savoury items and four sweet treats rolling out across the country from November 2

Caffè Nero expects the Pannettone Latte to be its ‘hero drink of the season’, inspired by the classic Milanese Christmas cake.

It offers the flavours of a sweet baked good in a drink – hot or iced – mixed in with Classico coffee and finished off with a burst of citrusy zest.

On the savoury side, the chain is returning some crowd-pleasers, including the Turkey Feast Focaccia, Brie, Bacon & Cranberry Panini and the Vegan Festive Feast.

Customers can also enjoy the new Pigs Under Blankets Panini, which ‘delights with a delicious balsamic twist, making every bite unforgettable’.

For dessert, mince pies are a Christmas essential – and there is a classic recipe as well as a Luxury Amaretto option on the menu.

Also up for grabs is the Sticky Toffee Pudding Cheesecake and the Millionaires Cake – ‘a moist chocolate sponge adorned with sweet caramel icing and finished with cubes of caramel shortbread’.

Will Stratton-Morris, CEO at Caffè Nero UK, said he was proud of the ‘premium’ selection the coffeeshop has put out.

‘As we’re getting closer to Christmas, we can’t wait to share our delicious festive line-up,’ he praised.

‘We have produced a menu as premium as our coffee, which features returning favourites that you loved, making a return by popular demand, but also paired with innovative new flavours that redefine indulgence.

‘We’ve put a lot of thought and care into this year’s menu. Our new range isn’t just a collection of delicious festive dishes, but it’s also a nod to the heartwarming Italian influence that defines Caffè Nero’s heritage.

‘Every item has been carefully designed to help our customers experience affordable moments of indulgence and serenity, amidst the hustle and bustle of the festive period.’

BEVERAGES

Caffè Nero expects the Pannettone Latte (centre) to be its ‘hero drink of the season’, inspired by the classic Milanese Christmas cake

Millionaire’s Hot Chocolate – from £4.30

A deliciously rich hot chocolate inspired by Caffè Nero’s bestselling sweet item, the Caramel Shortbread. Flavoured with salted caramel syrup for a hint of sweet and salty notes, and topped with a festive, limited edition chocolate cream, and drizzle of caramel sauce to finish.

Panettone Latte – from £4.30

Panettone is a sweet Italian festive cake originating from Milan. It consists of sweet, dried fruits, with pops of zesty candied citrus peel. The sweet, butter enriched dough is baked giving lovely bready flavours. Caffè Nero has developed this latte with Alpro Oat Milk, to deliver the sweet bready notes. They have also developed a new Panettone Syrup, which adds a balance of sweet fruity flavours with zesty citrus back notes. This is topped with Plant Based Creamy Whip – so this drink is fully plant based – and a sprinkle of festive cinnamon!

Florentine Mocha – from £4.30

Florentines are a sweet Italian biscuit. They’re packed full of dried fruits, zesty citrus peel and flaked nuts, which are all wrapped up in sticky caramel and then coated in a thin layer of chocolate. Caffè Nero has used this as inspiration for their festive mocha, taking their cocoa base and adding to it salted caramel and their new festive panettone syrup, to deliver a hint of sweet fruity & zesty citrus notes. Espresso balances out the sweetness and pairs even more deliciously with Winter Blend. Then they’re topping it with whipped cream and a scoop of chocolate chips for added festive indulgence!
