    More from Pennant

Jermaine Pennant added that Kai Havertz's move to Arsenal "doesn't make sense" to him.

"Unless Arteta says after Christmas, ā€˜guys, this is why I brought him, look at these statsā€™," he told bitcoincasinos.com.

"But having seen him for three or four games, I donā€™t know why Arsenal have bought Kai Havertz ā€“ it doesnā€™t make sense."

    Havertz signing 'bizarre'

Ex-Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant has labelled the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea "bizarre".

Speaking to bitcoincasinos.com, he explained: "Kai Havertz is not a number 9 ā€“ he doesnā€™t score goals, and heā€™s not a clinical finisher either.

"Number 10 is probably his best position, but from what Iā€™ve seen, Iā€™m not sure why Arteta has paid big money for him.

"He probably wouldnā€™t have got into the team last season, so to me itā€™s just a really bizarre signing."

    'He's got that pedigree'

Jermaine Pennant believes Joao Cancelo's time at Manchester City would make him a perfect fit for Arsenal.

He told bitcoincasinos.com: "What Artetaā€™s style of play is, like Manchester City, he wants his defenders to be able to go in midfield, and Canceloā€™s learnt that from the best in Pep Guardiola ā€“ heā€™s been doing it for years.

"Heā€™s got that pedigree, heā€™s a good defender and a good player going forward, so I donā€™t see why other teams havenā€™t been going for him. I think heā€™d be a perfect fit for the club."

ā€œThis is a big thing, for me, with players today, they canā€™t take criticism. Players today, not all of them, I have had quite a few players who have come through their agents.

"I have said, 'Donā€™t you get your agent to speak to me. You get your player to come and chat to me and I will chat to him, no problem'.

    Neville takes aim at Arteta

Man Utd icon Gary Neville has taken aim at Mikel Arteta once again as he offers the Arsenal manager his advice ahead of their clash with Manchester United this weekend.

Arteta's side have come under some scrutiny following theirĀ 2-2 draw at home against FulhamĀ on Saturday.

The GunnersĀ have been playing a back four which sees central midfielder Thomas Partey play at right-back as well as stepping into central areas when required.

And Neville seems to think that it's not working after watchingĀ Joao Palhinha bag a late equaliser for a ten-man FulhamĀ at the Emirates at the weekend.

Speaking on theĀ Sky Sports podcast, he said: "I would say that for me, looking at Arsenal, there is an element of experimentation and this expectation that full-backs think they can play midfield and midfielders think they can play at full-back.

"Thomas ParteyĀ is playing half-and-half in a game and sometimes there is an element that you need to go back to basics.

"I would expect next week that Arteta is going to end that experiment and probably go with a solid back four with four defenders."
