Victoria Coren Mitchell, 51, reveals she’s given birth to her second child with her comedian husband David, 49, as they share the tot’s sweet name
Victoria Coren Mitchell and husband David have announced the arrival of their second child – a baby daughter named June Violet.
The TV host, 51, who already shares eight-year-old daughter Barbara with the comedian, took to Twitter to confirm the news on Wednesday.
After sharing a snap of herself in a red cloak on October 31 she followed up by writing: ‘Many people are assuming my tweet yesterday was a Halloween costume’.
‘Not at all; last week I had a baby and nothing currently fits me except cloaks. Luckily, Only Connect is a pre-record. Happy All Saints Day!’.
The news was later confirmed in The Times with an announcement which read: ‘Mitchell on 26th October 2023 to Victoria and David, a daughter, June Violet sister to Barbara.’

Professional poker player Victoria is best known for hosting BBC2’s quiz show Only Connect, while David starred at socially awkward Mark in cult classic sitcom Peep Show.
Racing to the comments fans and famous friends were quick to send their best wishes, with Countdown’s Rachel Riley writing: ‘Mozel tov, hope you are both doing well’.
With someone else saying: ‘Congratulations, I’m sure everyone is happy to hear some lovely news right now and another Coren Mitchell in the world is certainly that!’.
While a third quipped: ‘Congratulations, I had a baby 37 years ago and nothing currently fits’.
Another wrote: ‘Amazing news. Congratulations to you and David. And best wishes for the future’.
And: ‘Many congratulations, a new baby how wonderful’.
David, who wed Victoria in 2012, previously describing daughter Barbara as ‘the best human being that has ever been born’.
He said in a chat on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2018: ‘Unfortunately, there is nothing like having a tiny child who’s safety you are responsible for to make you worry.

‘That is the real downside of parenthood, and I suppose any form of love, is it makes you fear more… I would say love is not a stress reduction exercise is it?
‘What you want is a long period of bland contentment… I’m a family man. I’ve made bad choices and I am constantly worried.’

The pair met at a showbiz party in 2007, and even though David admitted he was instantly smitten with the fellow writer and broadcaster, three years went by before they actually got together.
Victoria was in a relationship with someone else at the time and turned down the comedian’s advances.
In his autobiography Back Story, David spoke out about the agony of not being with the love of his life for those years, and how it led him to midnight walks in the park and frequent visits to the pub.
‘I was hopelessly in love. I told no one about it,’ the star discloses in his book. ‘I didn’t tell my closest friends or my parents of the enormous sadness that overshadowed my life.’
