It’s absolutely wild that the biggest hit show of the year was a cable show which ended four years ago. Suits was popular in its day, and it ran for eight years, between 2011 through 2019. Suits arrived on Peacock and Netflix this year and it became the most-watched, most-streamed show over the summer, appearing at Nielsen’s Streaming #1 for twelve weeks. People have watched 45 billion minutes of Suits this year, and even now, Suits is at #2 on the streaming viewership, just behind The Fall of the House of Usher. I don’t think people understand how rare this phenomenon really is – this isn’t Friends, which was a huge, hit show in real time and then became a hit show years later on streaming. While Suits had a good audience in its day, it was nothing like this. Well, the ATX TV Festival is preparing their 2024 lineup, and they’re going to reunite the cast of Suits.
The ATX TV Festival is beginning to roll out its programming for Season 13. The event, taking place May 30-June 2 in Austin, Texas, will include both “Suits” and “Halt and Catch Fire” reunions.
The creatives and cast of “Suits” will get back together, marking five years since the series finale. The legal drama has had a resurgence in popularity over the summer after it became available on Netflix and Peacock, spending 12 consecutive weeks at the top of the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 chart and has crossed 45 billion minutes viewed.
Creator Aaron Korsh and cast members Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty and Dulé Hill are confirmed, with more to be announced soon. The USA series also starred Gabriel Macht, Abigail Spencer, Rick Hoffman and Meghan Markle — the latter whom commented on the show’s “wild” recent popularity when speaking to Variety at our Power of Women event on Thursday. “It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit,” she said. “But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”

There’s been a lot of seething and Britsplaining about the Suits streaming phenomenon, but it’s perfectly clear that the Duchess of Sussex is a HUGE part of the resurgence in interest. While I think it’s bigger than Meghan, she’s a major factor and it would so, so cool if she came to this reunion. Fingers crossed! If Patrick Adams is going, I could see Meghan being talked into it. They’re buds.
