Robbie Williams: Netflix documentary trailer
Robbie Williams had shared that he “wouldn’t have put money” on him lasting with his wife Ayda Field for 18 years.
The former Take That singer has candidly opened up about his marriage to actress Ayda in the latest episode of Rob Brydon’s podcast.
The Angels hitmaker married his wife in 2010, but explained that he didn’t think the relationship would last as long as it currently has.
When asked how they first met, Robbie said: “Blind date.”
Rob replied: “Was it? Set up by a mate?” to which Robbie confirmed and said, “Yeah.”

Rob then said: “Who thought – she’d be very good for Rob?”
“Yeah, and those things normally don’t work,” Robbie quipped. “But we’re going into our 18th year.”
“Now in rock and roll terms, that’s astonishing,” said Brydon, to which Robbie said: “Dude, I would not have put money on it.”
Prior to getting married, the duo suffered multiple “break-ups” until two Hollywood stars stepped in to save their relationship.
Speaking on their podcast At Home with the Williams, Ayda said that the couple experienced an early rocky stage, to which Robbie said: “By dark things you mean finishing with you three times.”

However, it wasn’t until two famous actress pals jumped in to give some wise words to Robbie that he saw sense.
Robbie recalled: “I bumped into Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore.
“I started talking about this person I’d just ended a relationship with and was listing all these things about her brilliance when Cameron said, ‘I don’t think it’s over’.
“At that moment the universe spoke to me. I left and went straight to Ayda’s house and committed to her.”
