MAFS UK star Luke Worley’s time on the Channel 4 show got off to a dramatic start when his ex-girlfriend of eight years threatened to thwart his wedding to Jay Howard.
The sales executive, 30, revealed that his ex was so livid after hearing he would be taking part in Married At First Sight that she said she was going to gatecrash the ceremony in the hopes of putting a stop to it.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, Luke said: “I’m still close to my ex’s family so I told them [I was going on the show] and then I did see her out in the pub three days later. She was telling me she was going to find out where the wedding was, turn up and try and stop it.
“She didn’t, thankfully. I didn’t even tell the channel about that.
“The venue was secret so there was no way of her doing that, I didn’t even know where the venue was until a couple of days before.

“But she wasn’t she wasn’t happy. We were together for eight years, she left me, but she regrets it. Unfortunately, you only get one chance with me.”
When Luke and Jay’s wedding went off without a hitch, they quickly won the hearts of viewers as their relationship went from strength to strength.
However, their time on the show came to an abrupt end after Luke had a physical fight with fellow groom Jordan Gayle.
Despite the explosive exit, Luke looks back on his experience as a positive one.

He continued: “If I described in one word it would be powerful. From the second you get to that aisle, even the build-up, you’re not the same person as you were before.
“You are marrying a stranger so you have to be the best version of yourself. It is tough, don’t get me wrong, there are times when you just want to go home, but there are also some of the best times of your life.
“I’ll be honest, there are certain cast members I can’t stand. Things do kick off and you’re on each other’s toes. Sometimes you have a row with someone and you have time to reflect and you think, how stupid was that row? But there were other times when I was actually glad I said that to them.
“You’re not going to like every single person that you’re around and we did spend a lot of time with each other in the apartments. We have built a friendship group. You might have enemies, but you might have people you absolutely love.”
Married At First Sight UK continues on E4 at 9pm.
