MAFS Australia star Martha Kalifatidis ‘sick with fear’ as she rushes baby son to hospital

Married At First Sight Australia star Martha Kalifatidis has shared that she was left terrified after her seven-month-old son Lucius came down with a mystery illness.

The Aussie TV star, 34, opened up about the health scare on Instagram, sharing that it was the "scariest 48 hours" of her and her partner Michael Brunelli's lives.

Posting a number of photos of Lucius to her Instagram Story, Martha wrote: "Hi everyone, we just had the scariest 48 hours of our lives.

"Looch's temperature hit 39.8. His whole body was completely limp. I've never been so sick with fear. We rushed to the ER."

She continued: "He had a huge spew (down my sleeve). Turns out he had a virus. We're not sure exactly what it was."

In the next photo, the youngster could be seen smiling, with Martha adding: "Within a few hours of being seen by the doctor he was back. Feel so lucky to have such amazing care. Our docs and nurses are amazing."

She then revealed that after lots of "sleep and cuddles" Lucius has made a "fell recovery."

Martha and Michael, who are one of MAFS' few success stories, welcomed their baby boy in February, and shared his name with fans in their announcement post.

Martha had been open with fans about her difficult pregnancy, revealing that she had been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum and at one point was bedridden for “two months” due to severe chronic nausea and vomiting.

In a clip shared on her Instagram account at the time, she quipped: "It hasn't been this exciting and wonderful time for us. I feel like I don't want to sound like I'm complaining – you know we are so excited we are so happy."

She continued: "I was so sick. I could not eat or drink anything. There were days I didn't even get up to pee. I lost like 10 kilos in five weeks."

Martha said she spent a lot of time in and out of the emergency room because she could not get any “relief” from her symptoms. Fortunately, the star was able to receive “life-changing” medication from an “amazing” doctor.

“It is helping me to feel human again,” she smiled. In the video, the couple said they had hoped to share their exciting news with their fans “but it was hard”.
