EXCLUSIVE I’m A Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec call for no more politicians on the show after ex UKIP boss Nigel Farage’s £1.5m signing
Ant and Dec have called for a year on I’m a Celebrity with ‘no politicians’ amid accusations from Nigel Farage’s team that ITV is ‘stitching up’ the former UKIP leader.
Allies of Farage, 59, have hit out at the broadcaster on various claims over the past two weeks including cutting his airtime, breaking an ‘indecency’ clause and alledging plans to release a video in which the Brexit Party founder makes a racial slur.
When asked if they would have Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the show, Dec, 48, replied: ‘I think we do a year without any politicians.’
Dec’s co-host Ant, 48, pumped his fists in the air on their Instagram Live and said: ‘Agreed, agreed, agreed.’
Previous political figures on the show include Nadine Dorries in 2012, Edwina Currie in 2014, Stanley Johnson in 2017 and Matt Hancock appeared last year.

The disgraced former Health Secretary went into the jungle hated by large swathes of the public but defied all expectations and made it to the final in third place.
Mr Hancock, 45, admitted he decided to enter the jungle because he wanted to show the ‘lighter side’ to his personality after his unpopular run in politics.
Off the back of Mr Hancock’s success, the controversial former UKIP leader has made it no secret he wishes to target a new audience by appearing on the show while not denying that he plans to run for Britain’s leader in the future.
Despite reportedly paying £1.5million to secure him for this year – the highest fee in I’m a Celeb’s history – hosting the former MEP on the show has not been the smoothest ride for ITV bosses.
It’s understood that allies of Mr Farage are increasingly angry at ‘insane dirty tricks’ against him on the show and say they are consulting lawyers over his treatment.
Last week the Mail on Sunday revealed his aides sent a letter of complaint claiming the network had broken an ‘indecency’ clause in his contract by showing him naked.
The show’s longtime host’s call for ‘no politicians’ yesterday [Sat] came after Mr Farage’s aides revealed on Friday they believe ITV are planning an ‘attack’ on the former Brexit leader.
Team Farage alleged the broadcaster is set to release footage of the former UKIP leader making a racial slur on the personalised video messaging service, Cameo, in an attempt to scupper his chances of becoming King of the Jungle.

An apparent cut in airtime was also a complaint made by his supporters who believe that ‘lefty’ producers of Ant and Dec’s show are deliberately reducing the number of minutes he appears on the show.
It was reported by GB News that ITV are concerned they will be blamed if he emerges well from I’m A Celebrity and goes on to become Prime Minister.
A spokesman for the broadcaster denied claims he was being treated unfairly and said: ‘We are a 60-75 minute Entertainment show and the content featured is a far and accurate representation of life in camp.’
An ITV source further dismissed the accusations as ‘nonsense’.
