EastEnders star Dean Gaffney has suffered a break-in in his car just weeks before Christmas, as the soap star confided in his fans on Instagram after the traumatic incident.
The BBC actor, who starred on EastEnders between 1993 and 2003 and again from 2017 to 2019, shared the horrific damage to his Audi sports car on his stories.
Dean, 45, had chosen to park his vehicle on a street in London while he ran errands, but when the actor returned he discovered the window on the driver's side had been smashed in.
As a result of the vandalism, there was broken glass strewn all across both front seats and spilled over onto the pavement.
His possessions were also chucked around on the floor of the car and on the ground.
Sharing the terrible incident to his followers, Dean posted dark images of the moment he discovered what had happened.
He began: "I could get angry but what's the point… let karma work its magic…
"Christmas time in London… definitely a headache I could do without," the star added, along with a monkey covering its eyes emoji.
The actor chose not to go further on the incident and whether he'd reported the criminal damage to the police.
It's been a tough few months for Dean, whose mum Marian sadly died in August of this year. He was later supported by his EastEnders co-stars and friends in the industry during the funeral, which took place a few weeks later in September.
Dad-of-two Dean, who filmed I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! South Africa at the end of last year, had found his mum "sleeping" and was left "simply broken" by the discovery.
Following the devastating loss, Dean penned an emotional tribute to his "beautiful" mum and reflected on the funeral.
"Gone but NEVER forgotten… Sunrise: 23/12/53. Sunset: 13/08/23," the star posted along with a black and white snap and an image of the order of service.
"I miss and love you Mum, today, tomorrow and forever. X," he added at the time.
Dean's friends shared their support in the comments on his Instagram page, with many offering to be there for him.
Joe Swash, who was close friends with Dean on EastEnders, said: "Dean, all our thoughts and prayers are with you mate. Me and Stacey [Solomon] and the kids are thinking of you. Please come over for dinner."
EastEnders favourite Richard Blackwood, who played Walford's Vincent Hubbard, wrote: "Sending Condolences my bro."
