Eamonn Holmes talks about Angela Rippon’s impressive display on Strictly
Eamonn Holmes has blasted television presenters who don’t know how to read an autocue or present live.
The 63-year-old GB News presenter hit out at “household names” in the industry in a savage dig while appearing on a podcast.
The broadcast appeared on the All Things Business podcast with hosts Ben Thomas and Frazer Arnott and he sure didn’t mince his words.
The former This Morning star expressed: “The thing is, anybody can do TV. I mean, I’ve been in shows, you would not believe people who are household names can’t read an autocue.
“They can’t present and yet they can be there for four hours and someone edits it all into a half-hour show.”

The dad-of-four continued: “They’re not funny and they’re not talented and they’re not anything.
“When you have to do it live, that sorts the men out from the boys really.”
The former This Morning presenter went on to praise Noel Edmonds in particular as someone who he believes can present anything live.
Eamonn began his broadcasting career back in 1986 when he presented daytime programme Open Air for three years on BBC One.

He became a household name thanks to his twelve year stint as a co-presenter on GMTV alongside Fiona Phillips.
The television personality hosted This Morning with wife Ruth Langsford from 2006, taking over from Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby while they were away on school holidays.
The pair exited the show after 15 years when ITV announced in 2020 that they were having a revamp of the hit daytime programme.
They were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary who took on hosting duties, after previously appearing as guest hosts.
Eamonn now hosts Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel with co-presenter Isabel Webster on GB News.
He and wife Ruth tied the knot in 2010 at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire.
They are parents to son Jack, who turned 21 earlier this year. Eamonn is also dad to children Declan, 34, Rebecca, 32, and Niall, 30, from his first marriage.
