Centenarian reveals SURPRISE drink that helps her live longer

How long we live is down to a number of contributing factors. Some of these are beyond our control, such as genetics, illnesses and injuries.

But others are actually within our control such as our diets, how often we exercise and whether we smoke or drink a lot of alcohol. Where you live can also play a role.

Certain towns and cities in the UK have higher life expectancies than others. And research by Oldest in Britain has pinpointed exactly where residents can expect to live longer.

As part of the research, they studied how many centenarians lived in each part of the country over a 12-year period. Overall, the south east of England was found to have the greatest number of people aged over 100.

Whether this is due to the fact people move to these areas to retire, or whether living there promotes longevity remains to be seen.

Either way, a seaside town on the south coast took the top spot.

Worthing, in West Sussex, was awarded a longevity score of 15.432 – the highest of anywhere in the UK.

This score was calculated by finding the number of people aged over 106 compared to those over 90 in the region.

But what is Worthing like? Just 10 miles west of bustling city Brighton, Worthing has some similarities to its neighbour.
