make huge Australian announcement less than six months after landing on supermarket shelves\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The chocolate with\u00a0bright orange packaging, paired with white block letters may be distinctive enough, but did you know what it&#8217;s called?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tony&#8217;s Chocolonely is the Dutch chocolatier responsible for the ethically produced indulgent treat that can be found on supermarket aisles across Britain, but after a recent TikTok\u00a0clip, it turns out that many have been butchering its name.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A clip titled\u00a0Well this is embarrassing posted by Grace Louise, known as @grac31ouise on TikTok, revealed that many of us\u00a0have been saying the name of the popular chocolate incorrectly.<\/p>\n<p>Stunned, Grace admitted in the video that she had been calling the neon-packaged treat &#8216;Tony&#8217;s Chocoloney&#8217; for years, only to discover she&#8217;s wrong.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;S***, it&#8217;s always been Chocolonely!&#8217; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Her clip has since amassed a staggering 1.7 million views, and multiple users chimed in to confess that they&#8217;d been making the same blunder for years &#8211; with one even suggesting a reason behind the odd name.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/12\/14\/78870589-12855003-image-a-25_1702393013944.jpg\" height=\"1127\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Grace appeared to be in the supermarket with her friend who appears visibly shocked after realising the chocolate is in fact named Tony ChocoLONELY rather than Tony Chocoloney<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/12\/14\/78870587-12855003-image-a-26_1702393016323.jpg\" height=\"1127\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>A close up of the chocolate that Brits have been misnaming for years<\/p>\n<p>One TikTok user admitted: &#8216;Honestly, until now I thought it was just called Tony&#8217;s Chocolate&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Another wasn&#8217;t so convinced by Grace&#8217;s video, attributing it to a mere &#8216;batch typo&#8217;, and one hilariously called the sweet treat &#8216;Tony&#8217;s Chocolate Cologne&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>And questions were raised as to why the chocolate was so &#8216;lonely&#8217;, to which one user replied: &#8216;He [the founder] thought he was the only one who wanted slavery free chocolate&#8217;, hence the label &#8216;lonely&#8217; becoming an instant hit.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after an unlikely collaboration in Australia earlier this year which saw foodies being treated to\u00a0a Tony&#8217;s Chocoloney themed ice cream tub less than six months after the brand took Aussie supermarket aisles by storm.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In May the chocolate, which is from the Netherlands, hit the shelves of Woolworths and Coles &#8211; becoming an instant hit.<\/p>\n<p>The companies have also vowed to help end child labour in the chocolate industry &#8211; as part of their unique partnership.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be two &#8216;Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s&#8217; themed chocolate blocks available as part of the collaboration. The ice-cream, dubbed Chocolatey Love A-Fair is based on Tony&#8217;s popular milk caramel sea salt bar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The two new Tony&#8217;s bars inspired by Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s Strawberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream flavours.
