‘Hey little buddy, how did you get into my tree and my house without me noticing?

‘You’re really cute but I don’t know what to do,’ she said.

She said that she assumed it was one of her dogs or her cat, however, they weren’t near her.

Brett ignored the sneeze and kept working until she heard it again – prompting her to get up to look around her living room for her dogs or cat.

Instead, the content creator said a ‘really big, long-looking rat tail’ and a ‘giant gray, breathing ball of fur.’

‘I just kind of stopped because I was in shock. I didn’t know what it was,’ she added.

After she called her boyfriend – whom advised her to put on some rubber gloves and grab the rodent.

Brett said: ‘I get the gloves and I grab around his body and I start trying to pull him out of the tree. Well, they have hands and he was holding on for dear life to this Christmas tree and no matter how hard I try to pull him he wasn’t coming off.

I don’t understand how this thing is in my house right now.

‘After giving up a few times and trying again and trying to feed him, I ended up just giving it my all and plucking his fingers from the branch one at a time.

‘It was a struggle and he started to flop around when I actually got him off the branch and then he fell on the floor along with all of the ornaments.

‘It wasn’t a hard fall, it wasn’t very far down.’ After falling on the floor, the possum ran underneath her couch. When Brett tried to move the couch to capture it, the animal just ran under a different sofa.

Brett noted this happened ‘five times.’ Exhausted, Brett decided to take a break and then try one last time.

She explained: ‘I moved the couch with all my force and just went for it and tackled him like an NFL football player and got him and calmed him down.

‘He smelled so bad.’ Brett noted that despite the shocking process to capture the possum, it was ‘not mean and he was not aggressive.’
