Paul Sinha offers sympathy to contestants on The Chase<\/h3>\n

The Chase star Paul Sinha held his mettle against two contestants tonight but offered them his sympathy when “everything went wrong” for them as they attempted to win the jackpot.<\/p>\n

In a tense final, Liz from Shrewsbury and Dave took on the Chaser hoping to win \u00a314,000.<\/p>\n

While they had a good run getting 13 questions correct in their two-minute time slot they did miss a couple of questions and make some mistakes.<\/p>\n

When Paul came out to take his chaser’s chair and try to beat their run, he was emphatic about their situation.<\/p>\n

“Everything went wrong in that second minute from mishearing questions, misunderstanding questions, not getting questions\u2026.But you have my sympathy rather than any criticism,” he assured them.<\/p>\n

As if he had tempted fate Paul himself got off to a bad start when he answered “lips” when asked what body part brow growth serums are used on.<\/p>\n

As it was his first question he couldn’t be sent back on the board so when Liz and Dave got it correct they were pushed forward onto 14 instead.<\/p>\n

However, much to their dismay he then breezed through an impressive nine correct answers in one minute before tripping up on a question about the nationality of a tennis player.<\/p>\n

Although Liz and Dave appeared to be taking a stab in the dark when they said “Czech” they were proved correct leading Paul to applaud them.<\/p>\n

Bumped back to eight he also got his next question wrong leaving him with just over 40 seconds to answer seven questions correctly to beat the pair.<\/p>\n
