CORONATION Street fans have spotted a legendary sitcom star in the ITV1 soap.<\/p>\n

Eagle-eyed fans noticed a new character introduced to the cobbles during Monday's episode.<\/p>\n

Ram John Holder arrived in the Weatherfield as the father of Ed and Ronnie Bailey.<\/p>\n

The 89-year-old is best known for his work on Channel 4's Desmond's as a barber shop owner from Peckham.<\/p>\n

Desmond's ran for six series in total between 1989 and 1994 before being axed.<\/p>\n

Reacting to Ram's return to screens, one Coronation Street fan said: "Brilliant to see Porkpie in\u00a0Coronation Street! Legend! #Corrie\u00a0#coronationstreet."<\/p>\n

A second posted: ""Porkpie! Yes, what a legend!"<\/p>\n

"Only Porkpie and Ronnie needed in the Bailey family please," said a third viewer.<\/p>\n

While a fourth simply commented: "Omg it's Porkpie!"<\/p>\n

During Ram's first scene in Corrie viewers also learnt that Aggie wouldn't be returning to the cobbles anytime soon.<\/p>\n

Nurse Aggie Bailey – who is played by actress Lorna Laidlaw in the\u00a0ITV\u00a0soap – hasn\u2019t been seen in\u00a0Weatherfield\u00a0since early June.<\/p>\n

And bosses finally addressed her absence from the show.<\/p>\n

It was revealed that Aggie is currently looking after her auntie Em and won't be back before Christmas.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX.<\/p>\n
