Instagram video shared by William and Kate showing their family celebrating the Coronation signalled &#8216;the growing lack of cohesion&#8217; between the Prince and his father the King, royal biographer Omid Scobie has claimed.<\/p>\n<p>The five-minute video, entitled &#8216;The Coronation Weekend &#8211; Behind the scenes with The Prince and Princess of Wales&#8217;, shows the momentous occasion from the perspective of the heir and his family.<\/p>\n<p>Now, in his sensational new book Endgame, Scobie suggests that the limited showing King Charles gets in the short film points to a departure from the previous &#8216;lockstep&#8217; approach shared by Buckingham and Kensington Palace.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There has been a sense that William is slowly trying to separate himself from his father,&#8217; Scobie quotes a former senior courtier as saying. &#8216;His popularity is high, and he doesn&#8217;t want his father&#8217;s lack of it to affect that.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Scobie, who has been dubbed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry&#8217;s &#8216;cheerleader-in-chief&#8217; Behind the scenes with The Prince and Princess of Wales , shows the occasion from the perspective of the heir and his family<\/p>\n<p>He has received backlash in particular for what commentators have called &#8216;nasty&#8217; remarks towards Princess Kate, who he claims\u00a0<span>earned the nickname &#8216;Katie Keen&#8217; and had no interest in becoming friends with Meghan Markle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the new book, which comes out in the UK on November 28, Scobie discusses reaction to Kate and William&#8217;s video which gave royal fans a peek inside the Coronation weekend.<\/p>\n<p>He claims that a source close to William said the film was an example of &#8216;smart public relations&#8217; by the future King.<\/p>\n<p>But he alleges that with Charles only appearing for a short time &#8211; 14 seconds in total &#8211; the Instagram video exposes &#8216;the growing lack of cohesion between the King and the heir, the father and the son&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The short film, which was posted in full on YouTube,\u00a0<span>features William and Kate along their children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, attending the ceremony which was watched by millions around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It shows the family getting ready at Kensington Palace in preparation for the ceremony, with the royal couple wearing their regalia including Royal Victorian Order Mantles<\/span><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The family then leaves to travel to Westminster Abbey in a gold carriage, alongside thousands of armed forces personnel and Buckingham Palace household members.<\/p>\n<p>William, Kate and their children are then seen standing on the Buckingham Palace balcony along with other members of the Royal Family after the Coronation ceremony.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/27\/19\/70941285-12796945-William_told_his_father_we_are_all_so_proud_of_you_at_a_speech_a-a-17_1701115113052.jpg\" height=\"533\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>William told his father &#8216;we are all so proud of you&#8217;
