A NAVY aircraft has landed in the waters of Kaneohe Bay\u00a0after overshooting the runway.<\/p>\n
The accident happened on Monday at 2pm at the Marine Corps Base in Hawaii.<\/p>\n

Gunnery Sergeant Orlando Perez, a spokesperson for MCBH, told Mirror, that it had been landing when it overshot the runway and landed instead in the bay. <\/p>\n
The base was located about 10 miles from Hawaii's capital, Honolulu.<\/p>\n
The plane was a Boeing P8 Poseidon, which was a military surveillance and patrol aircraft, the U.S. Marine Corps spokesperson Gunnery Sgt. Orlando Perez told the Associated Press.<\/p>\n
The plane was used to find submarines and gather intelligence.<\/p>\n
The Boeing aircraft shares parts with 737 different commercial jets. <\/p>\n
At the time of the accident, the aircraft was seen floating in the water with multiple passengers inside. <\/p>\n
The Honolulu\u00a0Fire\u00a0Department reportedly responded to a "probable aircraft fire incident," however the possibility of a fire after the emergency landing, remains unclear.<\/p>\n
Nine people were on board at the time, with no fatalities, sources told CBS affiliate KGMB.<\/p>\n
