{"id":241534,"date":"2023-11-17T11:37:26","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T11:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lovemainstream.com\/?p=241534"},"modified":"2023-11-17T11:37:26","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T11:37:26","slug":"des-oconnors-daughter-loses-legal-fight-over-detectives-predatory-messages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lovemainstream.com\/celebrities\/des-oconnors-daughter-loses-legal-fight-over-detectives-predatory-messages\/","title":{"rendered":"Des O&#8217;Connor&#8217;s daughter loses legal fight over &#8216;detective&#8217;s predatory messages&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/79\/590x\/secondary\/Des-O-Connor-s-daughter-Kristina-5071355.jpg?r=1700220422498\"><\/p>\n<p>The daughter of late entertainer Des O&#8217;Connor has lost her High Court battle after accusing a police misconduct panel of failing to address the alleged &#8220;predatory and abusive&#8221; actions of a detective.<\/p>\n<p>James Mason had met and interviewed Kristina O&#8217;Connor as a result of a crime report in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Kristina accused him of asking &#8220;invasive&#8221; questions with &#8220;sexual overtones&#8221; and claimed he called her &#8220;amazingly hot&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Miss O&#8217;Connor, now in her 30s, has said the Metropolitan Police had &#8220;failed to properly investigate&#8221; a complaint, but the force disputed her claim.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Justice Swift, who considered arguments at High Court hearings in London earlier this year, dismissed her application for &#8220;judicial review&#8221; today.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers representing Kirstina indicated that they were considering an appeal.<\/p>\n<p>The judge heard that Des&#8217; daughter was reportedly sent numerous inappropriate messages by the detective sergeant after he responded to her report.<\/p>\n<p>A police misconduct panel found that Mr Mason had &#8220;deliberately and repeatedly abused his position for a &#8220;sexual purpose&#8221; and his conduct &#8220;amounted to gross misconduct&#8221;.
