Nigel Farage is set to launch a legal battle with NatWest Group and its former boss Dame Alison Rose to seek millions in damages over the debanking scandal.<\/p>\n
Dame Alison left the state-backed lender in July after admitting she discussed Mr Farage’s banking arrangements with a BBC journalist.<\/p>\n
She had claimed the former Ukip leader’s account with the high-end bank Coutts, which is owned by NatWest, was shut down on financial grounds.<\/p>\n
It later emerged that his political views were also considered to have been a factor in the decision.<\/p>\n
Now Mr Farage is seeking millions in compensation from the former chief executive and the state-backed lender for damage to his reputation, Sky News reported.<\/p>\n

NatWest confirmed it would cancel the bulk of Rose’s potential \u00a311 million severance package<\/p>\n
Farage said in a statement: ‘NatWest and its former CEO, Dame Alison Rose, need to be held to account.’<\/p>\n
He is understood to have instructed London-based Grosvenor Law to act for him and initial legal letters are set to be issued next week.<\/p>\n
It comes days after NatWest confirmed it would cancel the bulk of Rose’s potential \u00a311 million severance package.<\/p>\n
The bank scrapped around \u00a37.6 million in bonuses and share awards after it said she was not a ‘good leaver’.<\/p>\n
But NatWest has said it had not found evidence of misconduct.<\/p>\n
Rose declined to comment. NatWest declined to comment.<\/p>\n
