Dan Walker gets emotional as he hosts final Football Focus

Sam Quek has had her say on the Football Focus debate, saying that “things move on” and isn’t worried about the weekly BBC show disappearing.

Speaking exclusively with Express.co.uk, Sam weighed in on the recent row that occurred on Twitter between former Football Focus presenter Dan Walker and current host Alex Scott over viewing figures.

Dan posted a tweet on X, formally known as Twitter, saying it was “hard” to see Football Focus “struggling” amid reports of declining views.

However, Sam believes that “times change” and that everyone is getting information from different platforms.

“We have to realise now that people get that information from so many different platforms,” she said.

“People tend to not watch it [Football Focus] because you can get online through recordings.

“You can watch it later on YouTube. And I think the generation coming through they only watch YouTube or Netflix or Amazon Prime.”

“So no I’m not worried. It will always have an audience.

“But I think you always have to put everything into perspective. Things just move on. Times change.”

Alex Scott, who replaced Dan on Football Focus in 2021, seemingly didn’t take his tweet too well as she quickly fired back in the comments section.
