{"id":240250,"date":"2023-11-03T04:22:59","date_gmt":"2023-11-03T04:22:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lovemainstream.com\/?p=240250"},"modified":"2023-11-03T04:22:59","modified_gmt":"2023-11-03T04:22:59","slug":"shocking-moment-school-bus-driver-77-chokes-middle-schooler","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lovemainstream.com\/world-news\/shocking-moment-school-bus-driver-77-chokes-middle-schooler\/","title":{"rendered":"Shocking moment school bus driver, 77, CHOKES middle schooler"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Shocking moment school bus driver, 77, slaps, pushes and CHOKES, middle school Louisiana student as friends yell &#8216;get off him&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>An elderly bus driver was caught slapping and choking a young student\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span>Terrified kids plead with him to stop, including warning he is &#8216;going to jail&#8217;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The driver, 77, has since resigned and investigations are ongoing\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shocking footage captured the moment an elderly bus driver slapped and choked a Louisiana middle schooler while kids screamed for him to stop.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The driver, who has not been identified, was caught in video filmed by a terrified student on the bus, and has since resigned in disgrace from his role at bus contractor First Student.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear what triggered the incident, with footage beginning with the bus driver lightly shoving the student back into his seat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The student gets up and appears to try and exit his seat, causing the bus driver to push him again before shockingly slapping him over the head.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After the child shoves the bus driver in response, the 77-year-old then appears to pin him against the bus window and allegedly choke him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/03\/00\/77344653-12704781-An_elderly_bus_driver_was_caught_slapping_and_choking_a_young_st-m-15_1698971458838.jpg\" height=\"418\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>An elderly bus driver was caught on camera slapping and choking a young student<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=I3k2pRItHU8%3Frel%3D0<\/p>\n<p>Stunned students could be heard pleading for the driver to let the child free, with one screaming, &#8216;Get off of him.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You&#8217;re going to jail,&#8217; adds another student from the back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The driver was employed by First Student, one of the largest school bus contractors in the nation that shuttles roughly 2.5 million students every day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company has confirmed that after it became aware of the incident, the driver resigned on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the contractor told Fox8: &#8216;At First Student, we take our responsibility to provide a safe environment on our school buses very seriously.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The interaction the driver had with the student was unacceptable. He has resigned. Given this is an active investigation, we are unable to comment further.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/03\/00\/77344649-12704781-image-m-17_1698971562440.jpg\" height=\"429\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The driver has since resigned from his role at bus contractor First Student<\/p>\n<p>The school district that hired the bus company, Jefferson Parish Schools, also issued a statement following the shocking footage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We are aware of an incident that occurred on Oct. 30 on the campus of Marrero Middle School between a First Student bus driver and a student,&#8217; the statement read.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The bus driver is not a Jefferson Parish Schools employee. The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and JP Schools will continue to facilitate a safe learning environment for all students and employees.
