A Doomsday mum allegedly took off with her 16-year-old son, believing he was a "servant" to Jesus Christ and would be part of the "Second Coming".

Spring Thibaudeau took her son, Blaze Thibaudeau, thousands of miles away from her home and purchased thousands of dollars worth of survival gear. They were accompanied by Blaze's sister Abi Snarr, 23, and uncle Brooke Hale.

Ben Thibaudeau had reported his son as missing and believed he may be in danger as his mother "sees him as a Davidic servant who plays a significant role in the Savior’s return."

Speaking to a local outlet at the time of his son's disappearance, Ben worried for the safety of Blaze, who was deemed by his mother a "Davidic" who would be part of a doomsday event.

His father said: "They feel they needed to take him to an undisclosed location where he would receive his calling and understand his role in the Second Coming.

"I fear for his safety, especially if my son is contentious, rebellious or belligerent. I fear that my brother-in-law would restrain him or do something that would incapacitate him." Blaze was later found safe in Alaska at the Alcan Port of Entry, the New York Post reported.

Spring Thibaudeau allegedly became obsessed with the Second Coming of Christ in 2015 and has since acted on plans to speak with an "ecclesiastical leader". She also took part in a series of energy healing sessions which prompted concern from Ben.

Ben later revealed a bishop advised Spring to "stop if she wanted the marriage to survive". Though she took a step back from energy healing sessions, she began having dreams of doomsday and drew her daughter into the obsession.

"She started spending a significant amount of money on food prep," Ben said. He added: "She was buying a lot of winter gear, even though we live in Arizona. She was buying tents. She was convinced that the saints would have to gather in the last days up in the mountains, and she was preparing for that."

Despite his son's involvement with his mother's Second Coming obsession, Ben says Blaze "is in no way a supporter of anythign she's ever believed in."

He added: "He is your typical teenager, and all he wants to do is hang out with friends and be on his phone. He's on the football team and has worked so hard to be on that football team. They still have games left this season. There’s no way that he would he would have gone along with it."

Ben went on to say the trio who absconded with his son are "genuinely just loving, kind people" but were "corrupted in a really horrible way" by "dark topics".
