A man and a woman, both in their 70s, were in the\u00a0<\/span>red Vauxhall Grandland which collided with a bridge barrier on the A629 Western Bypass and fell at least 10 metres.<\/p>\n<p>The man was\u00a0\u00a0pronounced dead at the scene and the woman\u00a0was airlifted to hospital but died shortly after arriving &#8211; their next of kin have been informed.<\/p>\n<p>This comes as six\u00a0others have sadly lost their lives as parts of the UK are hit by unprecedented rain and a second\u00a0red &#8216;danger to life&#8217; warning remains in effect in eastern Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Pictures show the wreckage of the vehicle, which landed on its roof near to a canal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/21\/20\/76843591-12657441-image-a-1_1697918192719.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The collision with the bridge involved a dark red Vauxhall Grandland that was travelling south on the bypass in the direction of Keighley from the Gargrave Road roundabout<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/21\/20\/76843595-12657441-image-a-2_1697918199774.jpg\" height=\"1127\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Pictures show the wreckage of the vehicle, which landed on its roof near to a canal<\/p>\n<p>One onlooker said: &#8216;It has sparked a huge response from the emergency services.
