Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, was said to be in talks to star on fan favourite I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, but bosses reportedly backed out.

As reported by The Sun, it’s believed they feared the businessman, who is the brother of Kate’s mum Carole Middleton, was "too much of a risk".

A source said: “Gary was well up for a stint in the Aussie jungle and taking part in the Bushtucker trials but it doesn’t seem to be happening anymore.

“Obviously, he could be a ratings winner but maybe it’s just too much of a risk.”

OK! has contacted ITV for comment.

Gary has hit headlines in the past after previously being fined £5,000 and sentenced to a 12-month community service order for assaulting his wife.

The millionaire, who got his £30 million fortune through an IT recruitment business, later admitted that he had attacked his wife, Julie-Ann in 2017 in a drunken row and knocked her to the floor.

It comes after the ITV show released a first look trailer for the new series.

The 2023 series of the hit ITV reality show will begin in November, with an exact launch date yet to be confirmed. Ant and Dec will be on hosting duties again, with the much-loved duo ready to welcome a new batch of celebrities.

Meanwhile, in other royal news, it has been claimed that Kate and husband Prince William are disagreeing about sending their eldest, Prince George, away to school.

The family were previously seen taking a tour around Eton College, where William went to school, for George’s potential enrolment in September 2026.

A source said: "Kate long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it’s tradition. Kate thinks sending him to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy. Plus, she’ll miss George desperately. She and William argued about it for years, but he has finally won.”

Royal expert Jennie Bond told OK!: "Where to send your children to school divides many a married couple – particularly those who have been sent away to board themselves.

"If George is indeed to board one day at Eton,Kate and Williamwill have shown they have bowed to royal – and aristocratic – tradition. I think that’s rather sad."
