TONY Husband, children's television legend and satirical cartoonist for publications such as Private Eye, has died suddenly at the age of 73.<\/p>\n
Here we take a look at the artist's life and his most famous creations.<\/p>\n

Tony Anthony Husband was born on August 28, 1950, in Blackpool, Lancashire, and sadly passed away on October 18, 2023, on Westminster Bridge.<\/p>\n
He was a British cartoonist known for his black humour who worked with outlets including The Sun, the BBC, ITV, Private Eye, The Times, The Sunday Express, and Playboy.<\/p>\n
Husband married Carole Garner in 1976, and the couple had one son, photographer Paul Husband, who was born in 1978.<\/p>\n
Tony and his son Paul wrote a book together about the latter's battle with drug addiction titled From A Dark Place, which was published in 2017.<\/p>\n
The 73-year-old artist and\u00a0television\u00a0writer had a heart attack on Westminster Bridge in\u00a0London on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.<\/p>\n It happened\u00a0while he was travelling to a\u00a0party in the capital held by Private Eye.<\/p>\n Despite emergency services arriving at the scene, his life could not be saved.<\/p>\n Tony's passing was announced by heartbroken son Paul, who paid tribute to his father on social media.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Paul said on\u00a0Facebook: "I hate to post this because I know how many of you are going to be affected by it.<\/p>\n "Yesterday my Dad, Tony Husband, passed away as he was on his way to a Private Eye leaving party on a Thames barge. Something that meant a hell of a lot to him.<\/p>\n "I don\u2019t know what more I can say other than he was everything to me.<\/p>\n "He had a heart attack on Westminster Bridge. It\u2019s somewhat ironic that he somehow managed to survive 30 years of Private Eye parties but the one he didn\u2019t make\u2026<\/p>\n "This is the very last cartoon he made. Sent to his mate Nick Newman on the train down cause he thought he would be late."<\/p>\n This final sketch was of a man waving at a boat in Westminster.<\/p>\n Fellow cartoonist Nick Newman also paid tribute to the prolific artist as he said: "Unbearably sad news that the great Tony Husband has died.<\/p>\n "Creator of Yobs and thousands of brilliant cartoons for Private Eye and others, he will be hugely missed by friends and readers."<\/p>\n Tony is probably most famous for his cartoon strip in Private Eye called Yobs.<\/p>\n Husband co-wrote ITV's satirical children's programme Round The Bend, which aired between 1981 and 1991.<\/p>\n He also appeared on the BBC's music and variety show for children aged nine to 13, Hangar 17, which ran from 1992 to 1994. <\/p>\n In a successful and varied career, he wrote an episode of the much-loved children's classic ChuckleVision.<\/p>\n<\/picture>ALLY ROSS <\/span><\/p>\n
