Leigh-Anne Pinnock has appeared to share a strong hint that her husband Andre Gray cheated on her at the start of their relationship, as she opened up on their "struggles" and the "negative" side of love.

The star spilled all on her life as a superstar solo artist and former Little Mix member, as well as being a mum of twins and wife to her footballer husband in a new interview.

The 32 year old pop star, who rose to the top of the charts with the band for 10 years, has now branched out on her own, following a group decision for Little Mix to go their separate ways and take a break.

As she gears up for the release of her new album, which is expected to take place next year, Leigh-Anne spoke about how difficult it is to juggle everything with her family too.

As part of those difficulties, she admitted that there's been a "negative side" to doing it all at the same time, but that's also led to her exploring her journey with the new music.

“I love love, and I love really hard, so there’s definitely lots of exploring that on the new album,” she told Glamour magazine. “Being a mum, being newly married – there’s all the positive side of it, but also the negative side, and how we’ve got to where we are.

"I wanted to show that although things might look perfect from the exterior, that’s not always the case.”

“We’ve been through so much to the point where we could’ve split up, but we got through it, and I truly believe we had to go through all that to be the strongest couple we could be," Leigh-Anne went on.

The star then hinted to the publication that Andre got into "potentially toxic situations" in the early days of their relationship.

Recalling how “he still had a lot of growing up to do”, Leigh-Anne also guessed that some of those issues were as a result of the toxic masculinity in "his environment" and the football industry.

The star added that she found the stereotype surrounding being in that environment to be "quite true", but since then, she's watched her beloved move forward and mature.

"I think people often think that if something bad happens in a relationship – if you get cheated on or whatever – that it’s automatically done, it’s over,” Leigh-Anne added.

“And that’s fair enough. But in my case, I chose to work at it, and I am so happy that I did."

The musician gushed over how she knew that she and Andre had something truly "special", and as a result, she was determined to "fight" for it.

It comes as Leigh-Anne was awarded an award at the Glamour Awards, a ceremony that celebrates 'game changers and feminist heroes' on Tuesday, 17 October in London.

The singer was awarded the musician gong as a solo artist, a year after the band decided to go on an indefinite hiatus, which also consisted of Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards.
