<\/p>\nALEX Scott and pop star girlfriend Jess Glynne this week made their first official appearance as a couple on the red carpet of the Attitude Awards.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 36-year-old former footballer and pundit and record-breaking pop star's relationship was revealed by The Sun in early October.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n<\/p>\n
At the time, a friend of the couple said they\u2019d been dating since August, adding: \u201cAlex and Jess have been a slow burn and they didn\u2019t want to rush things or go public too soon.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
It's great news for Alex who hasn\u2019t always had an easy time with love. It wasn't so long ago she revealed she was considering trying a celebrity dating app in a bid to find The One.\u00a0<\/p>\n
From a young age, Alex has always pushed herself to excel in her career as she never wanted to be \u201cin a position where everything would be taken away from me again\u201d after her father walked out on her, her mother Carol and older brother Ronnie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Living in an East End council estate, she learned to appreciate everything she had and focused on making sure she\u2019d always be OK.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She previously told Fabulous, on being scouted by Arsenal: "I was that kid from a council estate in an area with very few prospects, and someone took a chance on me."<\/p>\n And while her career did take off, she categorised her love life as \u201cunlucky\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n Here, Fabulous takes a deep dive into Alex\u2019s journey to landing the woman of her dreams\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n BBC sports presenter Alex\u2019s first public relationship was with fellow Lionesses\u2019 legend Kelly Smith.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n The pair were together for eight years, between 2005 and 2013.\u00a0<\/p>\n Despite being tight-lipped about her love life, she previously spoke about the time they shared together and even called Kelly, 44, her \u201cfirst love\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n Speaking to The Mirror about the launch of her memoir How (Not) To Be Strong, she said: \u201cFor me, it's like that first love story; I fell madly and deeply in love.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAnd yes, there's that heartbreak and those things, but it's a huge part of my life, and I wouldn't go back and change that.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n She added: \u201cBecause that feeling of love and that excitement and what it gives you, it needed to be in there.\u201d<\/p>\n While there has been no official explanation over their break-up, Alex wrote in her memoir: \u201cHere I was, madly in love for the first time in my life, with an alcoholic. It didn\u2019t bode well.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Kelly, who is now married with two children, has openly spoken about her past battles with alcohol and depression and said she was not angry over Alex\u2019s words about her.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAlex told me that it was going to come out but I have not spoken to her since then. It's OK because it's already out there,\u201d Kelly told MailOnline.\u00a0<\/p>\n Fast-forward to 2019, Alex joined the cast of Strictly Come Dancing, where she Cha Cha Cha\u2019d her way through the competition with partner Neil Jones, 41, just days after he announced his split from Katya.\u00a0<\/p>\n The pair\u2019s routines and intense gazes didn\u2019t go unnoticed by the public and it wasn\u2019t long before rumours began circulating over whether on-stage chemistry continued off-stage.\u00a0<\/p>\n Laughing off the rumours, Neil told Hello! Magazine: \u201cThere\u2019s nothing on our minds but the show \u2013 we don\u2019t have time to think about anything else<\/p>\n "I\u2019m single but I haven\u2019t even thought about dating. Coming out of a long-term relationship I\u2019m just focusing on Strictly."<\/p>\n Alex also shut the rumours down, adding: "I\u2019m single but it\u2019s not like I need to find someone.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI like things to happen organically and if someone comes into my life and we get on, then great.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Neil has since moved on from his marriage to Katya with Love Island star Chyna Mills, 24. The couple first got together in 2022 and have since experienced a whirlwind marriage as they got engaged in April 2023 and welcomed their first child just a few days ago.<\/p>\n Alex revealed she went on a date with Corrie actor Sam Robertson, 38, who plays the role of Adam Barlow on the soap.\u00a0<\/p>\n The footy ace spoke out about their short-lived romance in an exclusive interview with Fabulous.\u00a0<\/p>\n At the time, Alex explained that she had been working on herself in order to \u201cdeal with someone else\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I never seem to have a lot of luck on dates,\u201d she shared. \u201cMy one date in ages was going out with Sam [Robertson], who is lovely.<\/p>\n "The next morning, our pictures were all over the press because someone in the restaurant had taken a photo. It wasn\u2019t exactly a great start!\u201d<\/p>\n Alex and Sam had been snapped at a Soho restaurant in 2020, but the photos being leaked online put a firm stop to any further romance between them.\u00a0<\/p>\n Despite the failed date she had with soap star Sam, it seems Alex was determined to get back in the dating scene so she went to Jamie Redknapp for help.\u00a0<\/p>\n Pundit Jamie, 50, advised her to try a celebrity dating app during the Covid-19 lockdown.<\/p>\n But this didn\u2019t quite work for Alex as she was scared of connecting with others on the platform.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cBut I haven\u2019t actually dared [to] go on it,\u201d she told Fabulous.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI am completely hopeless, but every time I think about it, it just doesn\u2019t seem natural to me, so absolutely nothing has happened.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n "But who knows what the future will bring? All I know is that I\u2019m ready to take on the next challenge \u2013 whatever it is.\u201d<\/p>\n Alex and 33-year-old Jess were first pictured together side-by-side back in July as they watched the tennis at Wimbledon.\u00a0<\/p>\n Since then, they\u2019ve been seen at various events together, including a Coco De Mer party, the Women\u2019s World Cup and at David\u00a0and\u00a0Victoria Beckham's exclusive\u00a0Netflix documentary premiere after-party\u00a0at The Twenty Two in West London.<\/p>\n Most recently, the couple were seen at the Attitude Awards, making their first official appearance as a couple.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Sun first broke the news of their romance in October as a friend shared they\u2019re \u201can official item now and seem really happy\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/scott-comp.jpg\")
