It\u2019s not every day that your seven-year-old son dances on stage with rock band Kiss in front of 100,000 people at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.<\/p>\n

I was in tears most of the time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Cuban, of Fraser Rise in Melbourne\u2019s west, was one of four kids chosen to dance on stage with the famous American band as the crowd roared during the pre-game entertainment.<\/p>\n He said the best part was doing an air-guitar solo while standing \u201cback-to-back\u201d with lead guitarist Tommy Thayer.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cuban performing air guitar next to Tommy Thayer at the grand final.<\/span>Credit: <\/span>Getty Images AsiaPac<\/cite><\/p>\n Three of Cuban\u2019s classmates from hip-hop dance school Kstar Studios in Ravenhall danced next to singer and bass player Gene Simmons, singer and guitarist Paul Stanley, and drummer Eric Singer.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, below them, 500 other children performed choreographed dance moves to the song.<\/p>\n The dancers, who were recruited from five Melbourne dance schools, rehearsed for weeks but were sworn to secrecy ahead of the game between Collingwood and the Brisbane Lions.<\/p>\n Carla said her son was nervous before the concert, but once he was out there, he was fine.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Elias, 7, Quba, 6, Cuban, 7, and Isaiah, 8, pictured at the Collingwood family day at AIA Vitality Centre on Sunday.<\/span>Credit: <\/span>Luis Ascui<\/cite><\/p>\n Mum wasn\u2019t so fine.<\/p>\n \u201cI couldn\u2019t stop crying, to tell you the truth,\u201d she said. \u201cI was just a mess \u2026 but it was a really proud moment.\u201d<\/p>\n Joan Manalo watched at home with about 12 relatives while her son Elias, 7, imitated drummer Eric Singer on stage at the MCG, as dozens of other relatives texted and called.<\/p>\n She said Elias said he\u2019d had \u201cso much fun\u201d and hadn\u2019t wanted to leave the stage.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Elias Manalo pictured with his mum Joan during rehearsals.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe woke up this morning going, \u2018Can I do it all over again\u2019?\u201d<\/p>\n Molly Dunn, 9, who dressed as Paul Stanley\u2019s Starchild character, performed in the 500-strong dance ensemble along with fellow students from the Melbourne Academy of Performing Arts in Spotswood.<\/p>\n Her proud mother, Amanda Dunn, said she was nervous at first when watching from home.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t think she\u2019d have any trouble with the routine, but it\u2019s such an overwhelming thing to walk out in front of 100,000 people with a hugely famous rock band playing and to perform when you\u2019re only nine,\u201d Amanda said.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Molly Dunn, 9, preparing to dance with Kiss.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBut they all seemed to take it in their stride.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was thrilled, to be honest. I just think it\u2019s such an incredible experience for them. They\u2019ll never forget this, I reckon.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s the sort of thing that, when you\u2019re an old lady you go, \u2018I once danced at the pre-match show at the grand final\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMolly was absolutely over the moon when she got home. She\u2019d had such a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n Tom Macdonald, chief creative officer at MushroomGroup, which produced the pre-game entertainment \u2013 including Kiss\u2019 performance of three of their hits \u2013 said the four mini-Kiss members became a major feature of the show.<\/p>\n They were interviewed by a range of media outlets on Sunday at the Collingwood Football Club\u2019s family day at AIA Vitality Centre near Olympic Park.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve been so popular; they\u2019ve been doing more press today than anyone else,\u201d Macdonald said.<\/p>\n He said that engaging the audience was important in a pre-game show, and the children had helped achieved this. \u201cThese 500 kids were rocking their hearts out.
