Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) is set to marry archdeacon Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) in upcoming Coronation Street scenes following his diagnosis with motor neurone disease earlier this year.<\/p>\n
Paul learnt that he was suffering from the condition after losing control of his hand, and originally tried to keep his diagnosis to himself.<\/p>\n
However, it wasn\u2019t long before he was due in court for theft, and the judge announced his health condition in front of Billy, who was devastated to have been kept in the dark.<\/p>\n
Realising that they wouldn\u2019t have as long together as they had originally hoped, Paul and Billy decided to get married, despite a few hiccups in their relationship in recent months.<\/p>\n
In upcoming scenes, Paul asks Bernie and Gemma (Jane Hazlegrove and Dolly-Rose Campbell) to do something special for him.<\/p>\n

With his MND having progressed, Paul now finds it difficult to walk, and has taken to using a wheelchair.<\/p>\n
However, he is determined to be walked down the aisle on his big day, and emotionally asks Bernie and Gemma to do the honours and steady him along the way.<\/p>\n
Because they are a gay couple, Billy and Paul are unable to get married in church, meaning that they have no choice but to opt for a civil ceremony.<\/p>\n
The couple are still in high spirits about their big day, until the attend a meeting with the registrar.<\/p>\n
As they go over their wedding plans, one of the things they need to get set in stone are their music choices. Unfortunately, this is where things start to go downhill.<\/p>\n
Paul requests the song \u2018Oh Happy Day\u2019 to be used as their exit music, but is gutted to learn that they aren\u2019t allowed to use religious music in a civil service.<\/p>\n
Knowing how important Billy\u2019s faith is to him, will he still be able to enjoy their big day, despite having a civil service?<\/p>\n
