Ice cream van driver is arrested for being over the drink drive limit after he was stopped by police for not wearing a seatbelt<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>An ice cream man was stopped for not wearing a seatbelt in Devizes, Wiltshire\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Wiltshire Police breathalysed the van driver to find him twice over the limit\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An ice cream man was arrested for being more twice over the drink drive limit after he was stopped for driving without a seatbelt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mariusz Kekus, 40, of Mascroft Road, Trowbridge, was stopped in Hopton Industrial Estate in Devizes, Wiltshire, before being breathalysed on the roadside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The roadside breath test revealed the van driver had 90mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath &#8211; a rate that is more than twice the UK&#8217;s current limit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>UK laws make it illegal for drivers to be in control of a vehicle with more than 35mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kekus was\u00a0charged with drink driving and driving whilst not wearing a seatbelt and will appear at Salisbury Magistrates&#8217; Court on September 29.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/06\/11\/75115705-12486507-image-a-1_1693996153761.jpg\" height=\"845\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Wiltshire Police stopped an ice cream man for driving without a seatbelt before realising he was twice over the drink drive limit<\/p>\n<p>Wiltshire Police later took the ice cream man into custody before joking about the incident on Twitter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ice cream man was later bailed and will appear in court later this month on two separate charges.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A photo posted by the force shows a police car parked behind a purple ice cream van with the words &#8216;Enjoy\u00a0Cadbury&#8217;s ice cream here&#8217; written on it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) equipped police car is shown sat stationary in the road in Devizes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The police force&#8217;s Twitter account @WiltsSpecOps later tweeted: &#8216;The driver of the ice cream van was sighted in Devizes where the driver had no seatbelt on.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;On stopping the van the driver provided a roadside breath result of 90!<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The flake has been added and we are off to custody.#whiskeyWhippy.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Twitter users joked that the ice cream man should have blown a &#8217;99&#8217; on the roadside breathalyser test.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Thought he would of blew 99 for the bants,&#8217; Twitter user\u00a0@moorepropgroup posted on the social media platform.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Twitter user @EvoTriCoach asked: &#8216;Did you have to put cones around the vehicle?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>In a statement sent to MailOnline, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: &#8216;A man has been charged after being stopped while driving an ice cream van in Hopton Industrial Estate, Devizes.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Mariusz Kekus, 40, of Mascroft Road, Trowbridge, has been charged with drink driving and driving whilst not wearing a seatbelt.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He has been bailed and is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates&#8217; Court on September 29.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12486507\/Freeze-Ice-cream-van-driver-arrested-drink-drive-limit-stopped-police-not-wearing-seatbelt.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Freeze!
