Frozen goods retailer Iceland will scrap another one of its brick-and-mortar sites this weekend following a string of closures this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The supermarket giant\u00a0has already axed 13 shops this year\u00a0in a bid to adjust to “local shopping patterns” across the UK.<\/p>\n
Three stores are expected to disappear from high streets this month alone, with the first to go tomorrow, Saturday, September 2.<\/p>\n
Iceland customers in Llanelli, Wales, will bid farewell to the town centre site for good, with no plans to replace it.<\/p>\n
It’s not all bad news though as shoppers can head to the Food Warehouse site nearby at Parc Pemberton Retail Park for all their frozen goods.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n While the closures will see a reduction in standalone Iceland stores across the UK, the retailer announced that it will also replace a handful of them this year.<\/p>\n Three new stores have already joined the supermarket’s brick-and-mortar portfolio in the past three months, two of which are in England.<\/p>\n A new Iceland store in Kendal, Cumbria, opened in July 2023, just one month after a branch debuted on Slough High Street.<\/p>\n
